Dear Friends of Christ the King School,
Bishop Anthony Taylor will celebrate Mass with our school children on Friday, September 3rd beginning at 8:15 a.m. This will be a special time for our children as many of them have never met our Bishop or celebrated a Mass with him. We ask our Christ the King families to join us on Friday to help give Bishop Taylor a warm welcome.
“I am the handmaid of the Lord, let it be done to me as you say,” those words, some of the very few that Mary speaks in scripture, sets in motion the process of our salvation. Mary could never have imagined how those words would cause her such happiness but also such sorrow. On September 8th our school children will celebrate the birthday of the most Blessed Virgin Mary. We will begin the celebration on September 7th by praying the rosary in the church beginning at 2:00 p.m. We are asking all parents to join us and pray with us in celebration of Mary’s life. We will continue the remembrance on the 8th with hourly prayers and then birthday cupcakes at lunch. It is my hope that through this prayer time and celebration our children will learn more about the one person who was perhaps closer to Jesus than anyone else. We will learn of her life and willingness to say “yes.” We ask you to pray for us to be forgiving, faithful, gentle, courageous, obedient, and prayerful just like Mary. We pray that this celebration of Mary’s life will help us to remember to say “yes” to God and to learn from Mary’s life experiences.
Grandparents and Honorary Grandparents are invited to have lunch with their grandchild(ren) during the week of September 13th-17th. Invitations will be sent home in the students’ Friday Folders on September 3rd. As in the past, our Scholastic Book Fair will take place during this same week in the Parish Center. Volunteers are needed to help with the daily luncheons, as well as with the Book Fair. Please call the school office at 782-0614 if you are interested in volunteering.
Our first PTO Meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 21st beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Center. All families are asked to attend at least two meetings per year. Each meeting you attend will count towards your parent participation hours. The next three meeting dates are: Tuesday, November 9th, Tuesday, January 11th, and Tuesday, April 12th. The meetings normally last approximately 30-45 minutes. Babysitting is provided in the gym.
Respectfully in Christ,
Ms. Boltuc

Dear Parents,
We had an amazing first week thanks to our children, parents and staff. Everyone was extremely patient in the lunch room, as well as at pick up at 3:00 p.m. This leads me to asking for your help with the lunch room and a change to afternoon pick up.
First, we would love to have parent volunteers in the lunch room from 10:45 until 11:30 each day of the week. We are finding that our preschool teachers need a few extra hands to help during lunch time; not to mention, I would love to give the preschool teachers an opportunity to eat with fellow teachers while their students are with our parent volunteers in the lunch room.
Second, we have changed S Street pick up to only preschoolers, kindergartners, carpool and siblings of students in preschool or kindergarten. All other first through sixth grade students will be taken to the bell tower to be picked up. As a reminder, parents must walk to the bell tower and retrieve their child. It may seem silly for a 6th grader not to be able to walk to their car, but I just need for us to keep safety as our first priority. While in the S Street line, please leave space at all crosswalks for children who will be walking across S Street and then again through the church parking lot.
The Endless Summer Party is this Saturday, August 21st beginning at 7:00 p.m. You may purchase tickets at the door and enjoy an evening out with fellow parents dancing to Ultra Suede, dining on brisket and a yummy mashed potato bar, and bidding on silent and live auction items.
Lastly, we are still in need of HOMEMADE desserts to be dropped off at the Parish Center by noon on Saturday to be enjoyed at the Endless Summer Party. Thank you to all for supporting your child’s school. Together, we are making our school the absolute best place for our children to learn.
Sincerely in Christ,
Ms. Marna Boltuc
